Scarlett Johansson (born November 22 1984 New York City New York, U.S.) American actress and singer whose acting range earned her popular acclaim across many genres ranging from period drama to thriller and action adventure. Johansson lived living in New York City as the mother of an architect as well as an executive from a production firm. Hunter, the sister of Johansson was also born in the City of New York. From a young age she began to develop a passion for acting. She began performing in commercials by the age seven. The passion for acting developed quickly and she enrolled soon after in the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute. In the Off Broadway play Sophistry she worked with Ethan Hawke. She then made her first film appearance in North (1994) and was written by Rob Reiner, at age nine. Johansson subsequently appeared on screen in Just Cause (1995) but her debut came in Manny & Lo (1996) which was a film about siblings who are orphaned and run away. The film, The Horse Whisperer, Johansson played a teenage victim of an incredibly tragic accident. In Ghost World, her role Ghost World brought her more fame as the outcast teen Rebecca.
